Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative (#832)
Thursday, May 30 at 7:30/6:30 am CT on KET2
How are Kentucky colleges encouraging girls and young women to pursue careers in science and math? The Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative brings together organizations and programs that encourage girls to pursue an education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The collaborative, in partnership with STEM-H Institute at Eastern Kentucky University, will hold its fifth annual conference on June 7, 2013, at EKU in Richmond.
Connections with Renee Shaw
Connections with Renee Shaw, a KET interview and discussion series, explores the cultures and concerns of Kentucky’s diverse minority communities and celebrates everyday heroes. “Instead of just harping on what’s wrong, we hope Connections will afford us the time to really discuss the issues with the people who are out there making things happen,” says host and co-producer Renee Shaw.
Connections airs each week on KET and KET2:
Fridays at 5:00/4:00 pm CT on KET2
Sundays at 1:30/12:30 pm CT on KET
Additional episodes from the series archives air on the Kentucky Channel each week. Most past programs are also available for viewing online. The series is also available via audio or video podcast.
