In this interview from KET’s Fighting to Breathe initiative, Dr. Wayne Tuckson interviews Ted Smith, Ph.D., director of the Center for Healthy Air, Water and Soil at the UofL Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute. Dr. Smith talks about the impact of environmental pollution on respiratory diseases and the ongoing Green Heart Louisville Study, a project where trees and bushes are being planted in a designated area in south Louisville and health measures are monitored for improvement.

Fighting to Breathe is funded, in part, by grants from the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky and the Kentucky Medical Association through a grant from the Anthem Foundation.
