The Farewell Drifters came out of Nashville’s vibrant independent music scene, capturing attention with their ’60s era-inspired harmonies and high musical energy–a sound they describe as “harmonic roots.”
Mandolinist Joshua Britt came from a family of touring musicians, and in high school in Franklin, Kentucky, he and his brother Clayton had played together in garage bands. The brothers teamed up with lead singer Zach Bevill, another fan of ’60s music. After moving to Nashville the group added violinist Christian Sedelmyer and bass player Dean Marold.
Through performances around the country, this fast-rising group continues to add to its fans base, and the Farewell Drifters’ 2011 CD “Echo Boom” debuted at #6 on the Billboard Bluegrass carts.
