Kentucky Speedway
The track at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta is known as the roughest in NASCAR racing.
The 1.5 mile track features 14 degree banking in the turns. “We conduct the best racing in the world here,” said Mike Simendinger, general manager.

When Matt Corbin left Pike County for college, he wasn’t planning to return. But after learning the culinary trade and working in various Lexington restaurants, marriage and family ties pulled him home and he decided to open the Blue Raven Restaurant and Pub.

Life Adventure Center
At the Life Adventure Center in Versailles, children and adults who have faced disadvantages of poverty or trauma find new hope and learn how resilient they really are.
Tim McGill, executive director of the center, talked with Kentucky Life host Doug Flynn about the center, which offers outdoor adventures to a variety of populations in need, including military veterans, teens from the inner city, and victims of human trafficking.

Wild Bill Gordon and the High Adventure Wilderness School
‘Wild Bill’ Gordon wants to share his love of nature with everyone. To that end, he started the High Adventure Wilderness School in Powell County. You won’t find a building with that name on it, however. Wild Bill himself goes out to schools and clubs to share his knowledge, and he guides children and adults alike on outdoor experiences.
